Viral infections of the airways impact the lives of nearly every Australian being frequent and costly disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations, including children, older adults and indigenous populations. Strategies aimed at improving protection of the vulnerable that could easily be deployed in communities are therefore a priority. This project will deliver a consumer-grade next-generation nebuliser mask referred to as “MyMisti”, ready for market entry that will enable better management of viral infections at home, and validate an advanced nebuliser for delivering biomolecules, including mRNA products (material similar to modern COVID-19 vaccines) directly to the lungs to prevent and treat respiratory infections.
How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?
This funding will support the industrial production of MyMisti to allow small pilot production costs fit for early-user testing.
Key targets to achieve in the next 6-12 months;
1. Gather usability evidence
Crucial to meet early demand for MyMisti (21 pre-orders since Nov 2023 and waitlist of 138 users)
2. Establish local manufacturing
MISTI has partnered with an Australian manufacturer to conduct designs ready for manufacture
3. Market Launch of MyMisti
MyMisti will be sold B2B - through pharmacies and retail distributors.

Please outline what you would spend the grant on:
We are seeking $10,000 to support the MyMisti build and take this significant step forward in protecting children from preventable respiratory infections.
Below is a breakdown:
$6,000 will go towards purchasing equipment, tools and materials, such as injection molding.
$4,000 will be used for MyMisti mask circuit design, including funding to access a world-class laboratory.
The remaining $1,000 will be used to support our team with professional training.
My strategic vision is to position Misti’s team (female led and 80% female team) as world leaders that would ultimately transform the face of health for those vulnerable.
