Tell us about your business:
I Heart Songwriting Club provides free and paid online services and resources to all songwriters to help them write songs, build community, learn from each other, connect with industry, and progress their careers. The Club started in 2014 when founder Francesca de Valence was struggling with writer’s block and mental health. Realising that many of her peers felt the same, Francesca developed a fun weekly songwriting exercise that increased output, self-esteem, resilience, and feelings of connectedness. Over 10 years, the Club has expanded as a business and now helps 1500 songwriters from 24 countries write 25,000 songs and counting.
How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?
The funds will be used to hire a dedicated team to produce season 6 of our podcast so that Francesca can reinvest the time spent creating the podcast to now sell advertising as a way of increasing profit. The goal is $440 per episode in advertising revenue within 6-12 months so that the podcast becomes self-sustaining. In 2022, we developed “The Magic of Songwriting” podcast to share Club insights, offer a free evergreen resource, generate leads, and establish ourselves as an industry leader. Over 5 seasons we have an audience of 18,000 listeners mainly in Australia and the USA.

$3200 - audio production and marketing services 8 episodes of the podcast ($200 audio and $200 marketing per episode)
$1800 - research, development and marketing of advertising packages delivered within 6 months
