High-End Hammy Downs, is a new online platform that facilitates the exchange of kids outgrown clothing, created to help parents reduce waste, save time and money. This peer-to-peer platform has an algorithmic matching system alerting parents to potential hand-me-downs in their radius, interstate or around the corner. Think like Tinder, but for you kids’ clothes.
Hammy’s was born out of frustration of my kids outgrown clothes piling up, then moving them into the garage and then finally moving to the back of the car, waiting for that illusive non-overflowing lifeline clothing bin…. Alas it never happened!
How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?
Hosting physical clothes swaps would make a big difference and have an impact on my immediate community, word of mouth carry's alot weight in mums groups. If parents are attending clothes swap and talking about the one they went to on the weekend, this is priceless marketing! Its also a tangible event, some customers have struggled with the digital concept so I am taking it back to the streets, by selling their kids outgrown clothes for. I mean who is tired of listing stuff on facebook, haggling, taking photos, pricing and dealing with strangers.... errrrrgggg
Please outline what you would spend the grant on:
Funds will be invested into marketing and building awareness for our inaugural physical kids clothing swap. By digitising some of the physical aspects of clothes swaps, there will be no waiting around in-between dropping off clothes and shopping, parents will leave with kids clothes, because the online questionnaire captured all the clothing data. Parents will dump their clothes with me, and the money will appear in their bank accounts! Costs include, hiring of community hall for event, distribution of flyers, online marketing campaign, rental of square machine, hand steamer and hangers for clothes, admin (labels, tags etc)
