Tell us about your business:

Bravery Co. exists to uplift and empower cancer warriors at a time when they feel most vulnerable. We support women through a collection of luxe and colourful headscarves, plus through our beautiful online community.

I started Bravery Co. after my second stint with cancer when I struggled to find any cool cancer headwear. I now collaborate with artists to make the scarves I couldn’t find when I had no hair.

8 years on, we’ve collaborated with over 50 artists, given over 350 scarves to cancer warriors through our annual pamper days and have over 15K in our Bravery community.

How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?

With this grant, we would extend our range to include pre-tied turban hats. Although scarves are at the heart of Bravery, I know that not all women have the confidence or time to style them. Also, things like mastectomy and lymph gland operations can restrict people’s arm movements making it hard to style scarves.

Therefore, these hats would increase my customer base by appealing to a wider range of cancer warriors, boost my wholesale offering and help more cancer warriors feel beautiful, confident and powerful through treatment.

Please outline what you would spend the grant on:

I would spend the money on the following to produce our first collection of pre-tied turban hats.

Finalising hat patterns and size grading $1000
Fabric purchase $1000
Manufacturing hats in Melbourne $2500
Packaging and tags $500
Photography for 2024 collection $2000
Advertising campaign $3000
