Tell us about your business:
We specialise in Group Music classes. We’re all about helping student to LOVE music. Every song has multiple difficulty levels, which means new students as well as more experienced students can play the same songs, together. Students learn collaboratively, create music together and perform for each other, literally from the first class. Our approach to music is “sound before sight”. The same way we learn to speak before we read or write, our musicians play first, and learn music reading and theory to complement what they can play. Group classes make music accessible to the widest group of students.
How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?
We’ve made the big setup investments. In our amazing premises, and our unique teaching IP- a Group Guitar program that aligns with our music education philosophy (none existed). We teach it to our own students, and it’s used by other studios, currently Australia and the US.
The grant would enable us to create more profit and impact by further developing and marketing this program to other music schools globally, and to market our own music classes (Piano, Singing and other instruments) locally. We’d love to impact more music students lives with the collaborative, positive environment of group music classes.
Please outline what you would spend the grant on:
We started in 2019 as a solo music teacher operating from home and developed to a multi-teacher studio with over 100 students, in a commercial space in April 2023. Premises allowed growth, but came with considerable overheads.
Funds from the grant program would be directed to;
• Group Guitar program; further development of materials, and marketing
• Marketing of our own music classes
• Marketing to include Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, photography and videography
• Developing of an in-schools show-team program bringing educational, immersive and entertaining live music performances into schools
• Tech support to streamline bookings and communications with potential students
• Staff development workshops
