Tell us about your business:
Lush Body & Soul is an independently family-owned business, operating in Kalgoorlie for 20 years. Our services include, but not limited to beauty treatments, spa treatments, massage and specialised facial treatments. I took over the business in 2015 to work side by side with my daughter a qualified therapist. I have grown into the role of business owner and enjoy servicing clients that come through the salon. Being a mature-aged business owner it has taught me a lot about strength and resilience in different economic climates and I am passionate to continue to offer these services to my regional community.
How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?
If successful in this grant program, the funding will create high profit margins through staff capacity with implementing new programs and resources. This also contributes to positive workplace culture and staff training by growing their capabilities as individuals which is something Lush Body & Soul is very passionate about. Client turnover would increase which contributes to promoting our brand to a greater extent in the local community, along with contributing to the livability of our remote and regional town so that we can offer services that a broader range of clients will use and support our salon to keep money in the local economy.
Please outline what you would spend the grant on:
Lush Body & Soul would use the grant to update our website so that we can offer a seamless online booking system for our clients. This would enable us to create more time-efficiency within the salon for our staff so that we are then able to service more clients and have a higher client turnover capacity. We would also contribute part funding to obtaining the capacity and qualifications to provide a new Japanese Head Spa treatment within the salon, which is a service not currently offered in our regional and isolated community.
