Tell us about your business:

I am a private midwife blending traditional and modern practices. I travel globally to learn traditional midwifery techniques, adapting and teaching these methods to other birth workers. My goal is to create a ripple effect: when women receive truly supportive, healing care on their reproductive journeys, they are more likely to have positive birth experiences, thrive in their health, and flourish in motherhood.

How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?

With $10,000 in financial support, I would purchase hand-woven fajas (belly binds) directly from traditional midwives and weavers in Guatemala, supporting their crafts and bringing these essential products to women in Australia. This funding would allow me to secure more teaching venues and cover travel expenses to expand my educational reach. Additionally, it would help me establish a dedicated in-person space, reducing the hours spent traveling to clients' homes and increasing the time available to provide my services and generate income.

Please outline what you would spend the grant on:

-Purchase of hand woven fajas, and travel to Guatemala to directly collect them from local weavers (there is no post in their village)
-Secure venues for more teaching events
-Investment into advertisement of my services and events
-Travel costs for teaching events
-Investment into renting or building an in-person space to work from
