Tell us about your business:

Equestrienne Magazine is an independently published, in-house designed equestrian lifestyle magazine curated by me, Sam Cavallo, with the help of a few close women friends. Made for women with a passion for horses and the equestrian lifestyle, lovers of art, travel, photography, authentic stories, shared experiences and the simple pleasures in life. Our purpose is to inspire, empower and unite women from all equestrian disciplines, with a strong focus on profiling female riders, professionals, business owners and creatives within the equestrian world. I want to use this platform to show that women supporting women is more than just a hashtag!

How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?

I have spent the last two years making mistakes, fixing those (then making new mistakes) and trying to refine the product until I had something that I was really proud of. While I am very creative, I do struggle with the business-side of things and would love some help with increasing brand awareness and promoting the magazine. Everyone who sees it loves it! Being able to reach more people and grow our readership would have a profound and far reaching impact. Supporting other women in their passions and pursuits is my purpose. It's more than just a magazine, for me it's about connecting a community of women.

Please outline what you would spend the grant on:

I have been extremely fortunate to have been helped by some amazing and generous women to get the magazine to this point. Being successful with my Spark Biz Grant would mean being able to utilise the skills of paid professionals for help with marketing and promotion, something which I havenโ€™t had previously. Most equestrian events rely on private funding and many individuals also seek sponsorship to help pursue their riding goals and careers. I would love to help support events and riders in the future to encourage, promote and celebrate womenโ€™s participation in equestrian sport and businesses.
