LTS Botanical is a solo ran business that makes handmade home and body products ranging from Home Fragrance (Candles, Incense & Wax Melts), Skincare (Face & Body Scrubs, Shaving Soap, Balms & Creams), Herbal Remedies (Herbal Teas, Syrups & Tinctures), Bath & Body Goods (Bath Bombs, Bath Salts, Soaps & Shower Steamers). I also teach Candle Making and Tea Blending Classes.
I serve people wanting to change to products that are more environmentally minded, locally and ethically sourced with a pillar value of sustainability and made with purpose. Everything I make is made with purpose and intention, highlighting the herbal properties and benefits within each product for you to understand and enjoy. I strive to empower and teach others how to identify what's in your product, why its there and what its used for!
I created this business as I am a herbalist and grew up in a family of herbalists, forgers, builders and makers. People who have been self sufficient and sustainably minded from day 1, I was born into this and I want more people to to know the knowledge I was gifted from a young age.
How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?
$10k would give me the ability to hire seasonal staff that I can train into permanent staff to increase manufacturing, quadruple sales and help me reach more audiences by having multiple locations at farmers markets and pop up shops.
This would bring in far more revenue to my business and also create jobs and education for others.
I also will be able to rent a space to physically expand my business and hold more stock as at the moment everything happens in my house and its getting too overwhelming mixing home and work together. Having that separation will help 110% percent! All of this will increase sales, brand awareness, business growth and production immensely!
Please outline what you would spend the grant on:
$10k would help me build and advance my business to the next level!
- As I do everything by hand, the funding would let me purchase equipment I have had my eye on ever since starting the business, there is a mini hydraulic press that assists me in making bath bombs. I suffer with carpel tunnel and making every bath bomb by hand gets tiring and painful, the machine would fix that! The machine I have in mind is $3 - $4kUSD depending on attachments.
- I need to update my full folio of product photos, website images and general photo stock for my business as my labels, packaging and styling has changed since I started the business. I want to get the best quality images and work with a particular photographer/ artist who I want to be able to pay in full. $3000 - $5000
- I want to boost and update my website to include a subscription platform, online learning and a place for wholesale clients to actively update, contact and modify their orders. All of this currently can not be done on my website and I will need it to be built for me. The funding will help me with a lot of the upfront costs! Appx. $1000 - $1500 to begin with.
- The rest of the funding I will be able to invest and upgrade my current insurance, software and other subscriptions where I can pay them all on a yearly basis instead of monthly. I can also upgrade them for more extensive cover.
