Tell us about your business:

We make films to ensure diverse audiences feel valued and empowered by including them in the creative process, which improves the quality of on-screen representation to help women feel seen, heard and understood.

Disruptor Films challenges the status quo and traditional practices by reducing production costs and risks, improving ethical and sustainable practices, and increasing profitability through authentic films that resonate deeply with diverse audiences โ€“ all because we simply ask what they like, and want.

This is being showcased through our first feature film โ€˜SUGA MAMAโ€™, and the many prototypes we have created to test with our supportive fan audience.

How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?

The funding would enhance our capacity to produce our first film SUGA MAMA, ensuring the story and characters resonate deeply and satisfy audiences. Allocated profit from SUGA MAMA will then be used as seed funding for our second film to ensure more impactful, inclusive films are being made and available to audiences.

Additionally, the grant would provide the validation and visibility we need to increase our fan base, and generate revenue, once the film is released.

Starting with pay-per-view to show traction and the need for womenโ€™s stories in film, we will then license our films to global streaming platforms.

Please outline what you would spend the grant on:

The funds will help engage an intimacy coordinator and assist with costs for our next two drafts to get feedback from fans.

Our team has agreed to profit-share / deferred payment systems to ensure all funds sourced are funnelled towards producing the film.

We always use what resources we have access to first (ie. Personal film equipment, wardrobe) and look to create Partnerships (ie. Filming locations), before spending money on production costs.

These costs include flights for two actors (who live in Sydney) for filming periods, equipment and location hire, make-up, hair, wardrobe, prop and set design, catering etc.
