Tell us about your business:

Paws For Change is both a small business and a registered animal welfare charity. We sell great products for dogs and dog lovers, with 100% of our proceeds funding our dog rescue projects. Our products are all Australian designed, unique, quality driven and our doggy apparel range are manufactured and packaged through a disability employment program - so we support locally and rescue globally. We have fun with our quirky slogans and engage with our customers in a fun way, all the while raising much needed funds for a serious topic. We have dedicated our life to this work because it's our passion and our purpose to help those four legged friends who need us most.

How would $5k or $10k enable you to create more profit and impact in your business?

A $10k grant would allow us to upscale our production and wholesale program to enable us to be stocked nationally and therefore increase our awareness and sales which, in turn, increases the proceeds we can funnel back into our rescue projects.

Please outline what you would spend the grant on:

At the moment, our production costs are too high which impacts our ability to offer palatable wholesale costs to stockists. Even though our products are unique and quality driven, we struggle to compete with larger brands who offer a cheaper buy in and our products are then overlooked or not given prime shelf position which impacts their sales potential.
We know, with a comparable wholesale price, our products would be stocked in more outlets and favourably promoted in store and, as we know from customer feedback, they would sell well with repeat customers coming back for more - particularly given the story behind the brand.

A grant would allow us to upscale production, thereby lowering costs and appealing to more retail outlets on a national level.
