Tell us about your business. What products or services do you offer?: Breeze Advisory is a fractional CFO firm supporting founder-led and scaling SMEs. We sit inside the business with leadership teams, bringing clarity to profit, cash flow, and the decisions that drive both.

Our work spans CFO advisory, forecasting and reporting frameworks, and bookkeeping under CFO oversight. The focus isn’t just better numbers, it’s better decisions, earlier.

What inspired you to start your business?: I saw too many businesses growing revenue without building the financial structure to support it. The numbers existed, but they weren’t driving decisions.

Traditional models were either too reactive or too removed. I built Breeze to change that, embedding financial clarity directly into how businesses operate, not just how they report.

How long have you been running your business?: I launched Breeze Advisory in late 2025, following 15+ years in senior CFO and operational roles across high-growth SMEs.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a woman in business, and how did you overcome it?: I’ve been fortunate that this hasn’t been a defining challenge for me.

I focus on building trust quickly, through clear thinking, commercial depth, and presence. When you show up with that level of clarity, you’re operating alongside leadership, not trying to earn your place there.

What has been your proudest moment as a business owner?: Watching a client move from reactive to in control, where they were no longer checking the bank balance daily, but making decisions with clear forward visibility.

That’s when finance starts driving the business, not holding it back.

What strategies have helped you grow your business?: Clear positioning and consistency.

I stay focused on the real problems, margin leakage, pricing, cash flow, and speak to them directly. Growth has come from results, referrals, and being known for solving the right problems.

What tools or resources have been game-changers for your business?: Xero is the foundation, supported by tools like Power BI and AI.

With the right setup, we’re also able to build customised dashboards and reporting systems for clients quickly and cost-effectively, so insight is accessible, not delayed or expensive.

Can you share one key lesson you’ve learned about managing finances as a business owner?: As a CFO, I've learned a lot over the past 20+ years before starting Breeze, but my biggest point to clients is that profit doesn’t equal cash, and most businesses realise that too late.

If you don’t have forward visibility on cash, you’re making decisions in hindsight.

How do you balance the demands of your business with your personal life?: By running my business with the same discipline I bring to clients, clear priorities, structured weeks, and focusing on what actually moves the needle.

What leadership qualities do you believe are essential for running a successful business?: Clarity and decisiveness.

Strong leaders don’t wait for perfect information; they make informed decisions, test quickly, and adjust.

How do you motivate and manage your team?: Clarity and ownership.

People perform when they understand what matters, what success looks like, and how their work connects to outcomes.

What role does mentorship or networking play in your business journey?: It's huge.

Being around other operators challenges my thinking and opens doors you wouldn’t access alone.

What trends do you think will shape your industry in the coming years?: AI, which I'm sure everyone says.

Automation and AI will handle more of the processing, but the real value will continue to be in interpretation, turning data into clear, commercial action.

How do you stay ahead of the competition in your industry?: By staying close to the work.

Understanding how businesses actually operate, not just how they report, and continuously refining how financial insight translates into decisions.

AI is accelerating what’s possible, but it doesn’t replace judgement. It allows us to move faster, build smarter reporting, and surface insights earlier, so leadership teams can act with more confidence, not more noise.

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about your business?: That “fractional” doesn’t mean part-time, and it’s not the same as a consultant or outsourced support.

It’s embedded, focused, and outcome-driven, sitting inside the business where decisions are made.

Because of automation, structured systems, and deep experience, we can deliver a level of impact that far exceeds the cost.

Reflecting on your time in business, what is one piece of advice you would give to another woman to help her on her business journey?: Back your thinking earlier, don't ask for permission and be authentically you.
