3. Eethos

According to them:

I am Cassie, the founder of Eethos. I want to create a social enterprise committed to fundraise for mental health projects and preventing suicide. When I was 24,  I attempted to take my own life. I had depression but did not seek help, because I was too ashamed. Without professional help and the support of my family, I wouldn’t be here today. Having grown up in a family business of household products, I know quite a bit about the product development process. One day, standing in the supermarket laundry aisle staring at all the plastic containers of detergent liquid, I connected the dots. What if we could use a more eco-friendly laundry product to fundraise for mental health? And Eethos was born.

I am extremely blessed to be given a second chance. I invite you to join me on this mission, and together we can smash the stigma of mental ill-health and give hope to those still suffering.

According to us: Why shouldn’t our purchases make a difference? We LOVE that Eethos is a product that actually works, is kinder to the environment and supports a cause so important to the world.

Female Founder: Cassie Li

At this time of the year, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the big target we’re trying to achieve for the year, but we just need to get 1% better every day, a little step at a time, and the big milestone will come!

- Cassie Li, Founder Eethos

4. No.2 Co

According to them:

Banish the crass, embrace the classy. Have you ever really had a look at the products in this sector? Probably not, it’s a weird category to be researching. I started looking around myself after being imprisoned in my apartment with two boys during consecutive lockdowns in 2020 Sydney, Australia. (Okay, I wasn’t ‘imprisoned’ - I totally stayed by choice & for the safety of the community), but the prolonged close-quarter living with a single lavatory left much to be desired.

I tried everything from sprays to candles to diffusers to drops, most of which were made out of plastic, encasing chemical synthetic fragrances in ugly packaging, where the product name itself usually had the word ‘poo’ in the title (ew)! Safe to say that very few actually worked to eliminate unwanted smells, & you certainly didn’t want to have these plastic, eyesore products on display in your bathroom sanctum.

Cue No.2 post-flush perfume drops.

According to us: The genius is in the simplicity. We all go to the bathroom and No. 2 is our reputation saver! PLUS if you are an eCommerce founder, Jess is a must follow for all of the biz and marketing tips! Find her on Instagram or listen to her epic podcast Marketing ATM where she spills the tea on the growth tips that will actually help grow your business.

Female Founder: Jess Ruhfus

Don’t wait for opportunity, create it. It’s amazing what you can make happen if you get creative, especially with a limited budget.

- Jess Ruhfus, Founder No. 2

5. Eco Cheeks

According to them:

We make 100% chemical-free bamboo toilet paper and tissue products that are safe, soft and sustainable. Good for you. Great for the planet. With Bamboo, you can wipe away your environmental concerns. Technically a grass, Bamboo is a totally renewable resource, one of the fastest-growing plants in the world [some species grow up to a metre a day!], and can be harvested year on year for up to 70 years! On the other hand, hardwood trees require 30-40 years to mature and can only be harvested once. Bamboo is also super soft, strong and naturally hypoallergenic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.

According to us: Our CEO, Danielle is an Eco Cheeks customer and she’s been quoted as saying: “Every time I wipe my a** I’m doing my part for the planet.”

Female Founder: Tanya Roberts
