WHAT I DO
I work with businesses to improve community engagement and sales by collaboratively planning "stackable retreats" and knitting workshops at yarn stores, libraries and community centres. As a qualified teacher, I draw on 17 years of experience in tertiary and secondary educational settingsto plan and deliver high quality programs aimed at developing confidence in a wide range of techniques including Fair Isle/ Stranded Colourwork, Mosaic, Lace and Brioche. I also publish knitting patterns for DIY Slow Fashionistas, write articles for knitting publications and have produced two books: the Knitter's Learning Journal, and the Yarn Store Passport.
I am passionate about growing the Australian yarn craft ecosystem and collaborate with other businesses in different ways to achieve this, including facilitating international teaching tours for designers, PR consultancy and design services.
MY SUPERPOWER
There aren't any other Australian Knitrepreneurs/ Knitfluencers... I have created a unique value proposition within my industry, one which has seen me grow my business from a side hustle six years ago to a national level in 2023, and in Feb 2024 I will be teaching in USA.
FUN FACT
I did the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in 2015 with my husband. A photo from the toughest day on the walk is my Mac wallpaper to remind me I can do tough things!
